Poplar Bluff is the seat of Butler County in Southeast Missouri at the crossroads of U.S. Highways 60 and 67. Home to around 17,000 residents, Poplar Bluff is the principal city of a micropolitan area consisting of all of Butler County. The city’s name comes from a bluff that overlooks the Black River.
